In this second article, I will focus on the latter, as they are for the greater part considered preventable and may be indicative of problems related to general sanitation and disinfection, staff compliance with prevention measures (such as proper hand washing and use of personal protective equipment), and/or antibiotic stewardship (which means following appropriate prescribing standards or guidelines) within a health care facility.
