Nunavut to host 2016 Arctic Winter Games hockey
Officials from Greenland and the city of Iqaluit met on Sept. 11 to sign an agreement that Nunavut would host the hockey events for the 2016 Arctic Winter Games (AWG). The games’ host city in Nuuk, Greenland does not have an arena. Hockey players will be flown back and forth between the two communities during the games for opening and closing ceremonies.
