South Slave students flock to the Trades Awareness Program (TAP), hosted at Aurora College in Fort Smith from Dec. 8 to 12. The kids had a chance to try out a number of trades including aviation, culinary arts, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanics and welding.
The Trades Olympics are an annual tradition at TAP, where students test their skills in various competitions against their peers. For many years the girls have taken the top spot and the trend continued this year with May Stewart, centre, taking the top spot. Courage Head, left, came in second and Connor Steed came in third out of about 50 students.
