Contestants performed to the familiar toe-tapping music of North Country Rock. Mary Schaefer took first place in the womens traditional dress category. Victor Marie of Fort Smith accompanies a traditional song in the talent contest. Earlier he won first in the traditional dress contest for men. Peter Martselos chief chef for the community feast swelters in the heat and smoke as he cooks up a mountain of baby back ribs for several hundred people. Stanley Beaulieu from Hay River captured the judges nod and placed first in the male jigging contest. Later in the evening he claimed the first prize of 3000 in the talent show for his singing and fiddling performance.
