lkerwhichshouldhavebeensubjecttohercampaignexpenseslimit.ThemoneywaseventuallyreturnedtoLeetokeephercampaignexpensesunderthelimit.Hanvold-WalkerisalsoemployedinAglukkaqsYel-lowknifeofceasaspecialassistant.ThisisnotthefirsttimetheConservativePartyhasbeenaccusedoftransfer-ringelectionexpenses.In2006ElectionsCanadaarguedincourtthatthepartyusedasimilarpat-ternonlythattimetocre-atemorespendingroominthenationalcampaignusingNWTConservativecandidatesexpensereturnsseizedbyRCMPSandyLeescampaignspendingtiedupinSenateexpensescandalThefactthattherewere15SenatorswhoshowedtheseenormoustravelexpensesduringthelastfederalelectionsaysthatthesepeoplewereactingoutsidetheboundsofwhattheSenatessupposedtobeandmaybeactuallydoingthingsthatshouldneverhavebeendoneWesternArcticMPDennisBevingtonindividualcandidatesbud-gets.Thistimetheyareaccusedoftheopposite.Bevingtonsaidthegrow-ingscandalwithSenatorscampaignexpenseswhichhasseenDuffyresignfromtheConservativePartycau-cusandimplicatesthreeotherSenatorsincludingPamelaWallingivesproofthattheSenateisnolon-gerfunctioningthewayitwasintended.Thefactthattherewere15SenatorswhoshowedtheseenormoustravelexpensesduringthelastfederalelectionsaysthatthesepeoplewereactingoutsidetheboundsofwhattheSenatessupposedtobeandmaybeactuallydoingthingsthatshouldneverhavebeendonehesaid.IthinkCanadiansarestart-ingtogetthatmessagethatthisappointedSenatehasout-useditsusefulnessasabodyofsobersecondthoughtandhasmorphedintothispoliticalanimalthatiscom-pletelyinappropriate.Asfortheexpenseshesaidhewouldliketoseeafederalelectionwhereev-erythingisaboveboard.Iranallmytravelex-pensesaspartoftheelec-tioncampaignandIonlyspent50000soIdidnthavetokeeptheminmypockethesaid.Every-bodythattravelledwithmewaspaidforwhichshowedupinthecam-paignexpenses...ButthenagainIvenevereverhadtoworryabouttheelectionexpensescap.OneyearIwonandIhadthelowestamountspentofanyNDPcandidatewoninthecoun-try.Itwas45000.SoIvealwayshadfairlylowex-pensesbecauseinrealitythatsnotwhatwinsitforyouintheNorth.
