shesaid.PeterRedverswiththeNWTChapteroftheBarlowsaidnumerousstudiesatfrackingsitesaroundtheworldhaveshownthechemicalsusedareharmfultosurroundingecosystemsandfreshwatersupplies.Weknowthatwherefrackinghastakenplacethereisachemicalsoupthatisverydangeroustowaterandtohumanhealthshesaid.Thebigpictureshesaidisthatresidentsneedtotakeactionbeyondtheirownwaterconservationeffortsandstanduppolitically.ItsextremelyimportantthatthevoicesofthepeopleoftheNorthwestTerritoriesCouncilofCanadiansnationalchairMaudeBarlowspeakstoYellowkniferesidentslastweekontheprotectionofwaterhydraulicfracturingandhernewbookBlueFutureProtectingWaterforPeopleandthePlanetForever.
